Mike Smith, President and CEOMr. Smith joined Georgia Transmission Corp. in 2002 as vice president and CFO and was promoted to CEO in 2005. After earning a bachelor’s degree in business law and an M.B.A. from Louisiana State University, he served 14 years in finance and managerial positions at ARCO, Houston, Texas. He then served as chief financial officer of Southern Company Energy Marketing, CFO of Mirant-Americas, chief risk officer of Mirant Corp., and executive director of the Committee of Chief Risk Officers.
Our executives represent an enviable blend of those with corporate memory gained during careers at Georgia Transmission and those who bring different perspectives from other utilities and industries.
Our board consists of executives from Georgia’s member-owned distribution co-ops that own Georgia Transmission Corp. and outside directors.
